Skye was pulled from a local animal control a year ago. We just knew her sweet demeanor, beautiful blue eyes, and coat like velvet would get her a home quickly. We were wrong. Skye has been at the shelter for a year! We could not stand to watch her grow increasingly stressed out. We had to find her a foster family.
One day a wonderful woman e-mailed and offered to help foster pets for PAWS. She sounded perfect for Skye. She met Skye multiple times and then brought out her boyfriend. Everyone was on board with helping her out, including their dog Parker.
She is going on day 5 of being in her foster home, and she is doing great! Elizabeth already says she is a different dog than the one she met at the shelter. She is a total cuddle hog, and she loves to sit right next to people on the couch, lavished in their attention. She is already quite bonded with Elizabeth, and she sticks with her with the kind of loyalty only dogs offer. Skye has always been a little nervous with men so she is taking a little extra time to warm up to Jon. She is never mean, but she will shy away from people if she is nervous. Jon is making sure that he is the one that feeds her and with a little time and a whole lotta love we know she will be just as smitten with him soon.

They are now starting to work on skills that will help her find a new home. Like waiting for them to walk out the door before she does, slowing down her overzealous eating, and putting the finishing touches on her housebreaking. Skye has found the perfect place to rest and wait for her permanent home. Any family would be lucky to have her. She is sweet. She is beautiful. She has a zest for life that is contagious.
